Really recent piece, finished it about a ....week?..ago? (Ugh..exams and sickness make one's mind a fuzzball). Formed silver brooch with Chatham emeralds set into it. Much much lighter weight than the Phoenix piece, so it can actually be worn on a shirt or a coat.

This piece was actually a comission. I really didn't want to part with it but a deals a deal :). I'm a jewelry major (Well, I should say was, I've gone and graduated now O_o;) So its a little bit of both.

For some reason, I can see the shape of a bird... :O_o:

It's quite a pretty piece. I've wanted to try jewellery making, but I havn't the time. Maybe one day I'll be able to practice just for fun. Did you begin with metals?

:D you see a bird because you are supposed to. Jewelry making is great, I reccomend it to anyone who wants to try it. I didn't begin with metals, I started out with beading and silk thread work, then moved up to metals a while after that. There was a good bit of time between those, where I messed around with ceramic bead making and things like that too. Experiment, see what interests you!

Oh that would be cool as a matching set with the other one reversed the other way on a cloak or something or make it into a hair piece.
any I like it.
